Research Experience

Postdoctoral Fellow

Aug 2023 – Present
Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), Rolla, MO, USA
Supervisor: Prof. Sajal K. Das

  • Postdoctoral researcher in the CReWMaN Lab, conducting research in cloud-edge systems, cyber-physical systems, and intelligent resource management.
  • Co-PI on an NSF-EPCN proposal on EV charging and energy-aware resource coordination, contributing to technical design, preliminary analysis, evaluation plans, and broader impacts as part of NSF proposal development.
  • Participated in the NSF I-Corps ecosystem (Local, Regional, and BOOST) as a Technical Lead, contributing to customer discovery, problem–solution fit analysis, and translation of research outcomes toward potential real-world and commercialization pathways.
  • Lead contributor to the NSF-funded project “SOTERIA: Satisfaction- and Behavior-Aware Dynamic Resource Allocation in Public Safety Systems”, focusing on game-theoretic and learning-enabled coordination for emergency response networks.
  • Conducted research on behavior-aware offloading and coordination in vehicular networks, targeting latency minimization, energy efficiency, and robustness under dynamic mobility.
  • Developed dynamic route-planning and energy-aware optimization strategies for urban air mobility and solar-assisted aerial vehicles.
  • Designed and evaluated deadline-aware scheduling mechanisms for serverless and microservice-based computing platforms.

Ph.D. Research Scholar

July 2017 – Feb 2023
National Institute of Technology Rourkela, Odisha, India
Supervisor: Prof. Manmath Narayan Sahoo

Doctoral research focused on resource management and optimization in virtualized cloud infrastructures, with emphasis on efficient complete and selective re-embedding strategies for dynamic virtual data center requests under demand fluctuations and multi-domain constraints.

Selected Publications from Ph.D. Research:

Visiting Researcher

May 2016 – April 2017
National Institute of Technology Rourkela, Odisha, India

Supervisors:
Prof. Banshidhar Majhi,
Prof. Sourav Kanti Addya

Worked on the Virtual Machine Placement (VMP) problem in cloud data centers, proposing a meta-heuristic solution based on the crow search algorithm. Integrated live-migration strategies and conducted comparative evaluations under varying workloads and infrastructure configurations.

Research Intern

Dec 2013 – May 2014
National Informatics Centre (NIC), Bhubaneswar, India
Supervisor: Mr. C. R. Kanungo

Worked on network design and performance evaluation using Cisco-certified simulation tools. Designed and configured enterprise-scale network topologies, analyzed routing protocols, and evaluated trade-offs between latency, throughput, and traffic patterns to recommend protocol selection under different deployment scenarios.
